It make it a new virus when it mutate to a new flue, In March and April 2009, hundreds of laboratory-confirmed infections and a number of deaths were caused by an outbreak of a new strain of H1N1.

6. How do viruses mutate?

Sometimes during the process of copying the RNA or DNA of the virus, small errors occur in the copy. These errors are replicated into subsequent copies. If the change isn't fatal to the virus and causes it to stop replicating, then the virus has resulted in a mutation. If that mutation results in a changed protein that enables the virus to survive, infect or replicate better the virus will become more infectious.

7. What does it mean that this virus has "parts" from other known swine flus, human flus and American bird flus?

It’s a mutation between all the viruses combined that is why it was hard at first to find the cure.

8. How does that process happen?

When it got an error of DNA and take it from a different virus and it start mutating.

9. How is the flu vaccine created?

With the virus the created the medicine for it.

10. Why are some viruses transmittable from human to human while others are not (avian flu)? Because the RNA and DNA are different to ours and only in very few cases it can be transmited.

11. How does Tamiflu work?

Tamiflu capsules and suspension contain the active ingredient oseltamivir phosphate, which is a type of medicine called a neuraminidase inhibitor. It is used to treat and prevent infection with the influenza (flu) virus.

If the virus mutated again 1. What is the most predictable thing about influenza?

2. How many people have died in Mexico? (based on the article as well as on latest news) Mexico's' health department says the number of suspected swine flu deaths has risen to 1593.

3.Name 3 countries where swine flu has been confirmed in the last three days.

The US, Canada, Spain and Britain confirmed cases earlier but no deaths have been reported outside Mexico, where the virus was first reported.

4. What are the symptoms of the swine flu? symptoms reported with swine influenza A virus infection include vomiting, diarrhea, myalgia, headache, chills, fatigue, and dyspnea. Conjunctivitis is rare, but has been reported.

6. What percentage of the world population died of influenza then? 0.1% death. because the influenza people die more because accidents

7. Why was there an emergency vaccination program in 1976?

It started on January 27, 1976, when a small outbreak of mild respiratory illness occurred at the Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey. Throat cultures taken from sick soldiers grew out what laboratorians at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identified as a “swine-like flu virus which was believed to have been inactive in the human population. swine flu was believed to have been the agent of the century’s worst flu pandemic in 1918-1919 in which approximately 500,000 Americans died.

8. Name a few actions the Mexican government has done to curb the spread of swine flu. They close public events and also schools, restaurants etc. they warn people to stay at home as much as possible and if they go out they have to use mouth cover.to wahs your hand each hour and teake a lot of vitamine C.
